⁣ ⁣ 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 “𝗧𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘀 𝗘𝗹𝗯𝗼𝘄” 𝗡𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗚𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿⁣ ⁣ About 2 out of 3 people have a fibrous arch , the Arcade of Frohse — sitting exactly where the radial nerve dives between the two layers of the supinator muscle. Compress that nerve there, and it produces elbow pain that’s nearly indistinguishable from classic tennis elbow.⁣ ⁣ 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗽: 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻. 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 (𝗔𝗥𝗧) , 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼.⁣ ⁣ ⁣ 𝘉𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘪𝘵’𝘴 𝘴𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘥𝘦𝘦𝘱, 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘴 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯.⁣ ⁣ It’s the strongest rotator of all four suboccipital muscles. Thanks to the length of the atlas’s transverse process (basically extra leverage), it out rotates its neighbors.⁣ ⁣ It sits deep, buried under the trapezius, splenius capitis, and semispinalis capitis. Contract it on one side, and the atlas rotates on the axis, turning the face to that same side, a big part of how far you can turn your neck.⁣ ⁣ Big role in how your neck turns.⁣ ⁣ #physicaltherapy #acupuncture #health #miami #neckpain
